New Deputy
Governor
The
Bank announces the appointment of Mr. Darcy Boyce as a Deputy
Governor of the Central Bank.
The appointment takes effect from July 1, 2000.
Mr.
Boyce is currently a Partner with KPMG, Barbados and has been in
charge of consulting for the past seven years.
He is a Certified Management Accountant and holds a B.Sc.
in Economics from the University of the West Indies Mona,
Jamaica, and an MBA in Finance and Applied Economics from the
University of Toronto, Canada.
Mr.
Boyce is a former member of the Bank's Management team, holding
offices of Deputy Manager, Banking and Currency as well as
Manager, Management Information Systems during 1979 to 1983.
His earlier attachment to the Bank was preceded by a few
years as an Economist with the Caribbean Development Bank.
For
more than twenty-five years Mr. Boyce has been providing
professional services in economics, finance, institutional
strengthening, strategic planning, project management,
privatizations, organizational reviews, management design and
similar assignments for several governments and private sector
organizations. He
brings a wide experience to the job, having worked for the
governments of Antigua, Dominica, St. Kitts-Nevis, Anguilla,
British Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the
Grenadines and Grenada and Belize.
He has also worked with the Agricultural Venture Trust
and as coordinator of the Barbados Private Sector Agency.
He is a past president of the Barbados Economic Society
and was a member of the Barbados Government's Economic Council.
The
new Deputy Governor fills the position vacated by Dr. Marion
Williams who took up office as Governor on November 1, 1999.
