Mr.
Carlos Holder
Deputy Governor
Mr.
Carlos Holder was appointed as Deputy Governor of the Central
Bank of Barbados on June 1, 2001
He
graduated with a B.A. (Mathematics and Economics) from the
University of the West Indies in 1978 and went on to obtain a
Masters Degree in Economics from Queens University, Canada in
1980.
Mr.
Holder previously served as an Economist with the Central Bank
of Barbados before joining the Caribbean Development Bank as a
Country Economist in 1991. He was seconded to the Ministry of
Finance to serve as Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister from
1994 to 1998 and returned to Caribbean Development Bank as Chief
Country Economist in 1998. He also received training with the
IMF in BOP Methodology and Programming and Policy.
Mr.
Holder, whose specialization is Econometrics, has published
papers on The Housing Market in Barbados, Economic Forecasting
in the Caribbean and Monetary and Fiscal Policy in Barbados.
