OBJECTIVES
The Central Bank of Barbados was
established in May 1972. The objectives of the bank are
- Monetary:
To provide a stable monetary framework for the
country's economic development.
- Economic
& Financial:
To assist in promoting sound economic development by
arrangements for special financing of sugar and other
industries, by providing credit insurance and guarantee
facilities to businesses, and by supplying the Government
and the public with current information and advice on the
performance of the economy.
- Administrative:
To create, through training and progressive personnel
policies, a productive working environment and to develop
the personalities and capacities of members of staff.
- Public
Relations:
To keep the public informed on economic activity in Barbados
through regular publications and press releases and to raise
the level of economic intelligence in the community.
