Cleviston Haynes has been appointed Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados effective January 1, 2018.
Haynes, who has been acting in the post since February 2017, is a 37-year veteran of the Central Bank. Throughout his tenure, he has served in various posts, including Chief Economist, Advisor to the Governor, Director of Bank Supervision, and Deputy Governor.
“I am honoured by the confidence reposed in me by the government of Barbados,” Haynes said after being confirmed in the post of Governor. “I undertake this assignment at a challenging time, but I am confident that, together with my team and the assistance and cooperation of all stakeholders, the Bank can provide the leadership needed at this time."
With this appointment, Haynes becomes the organisation’s seventh Governor.
