In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Dominica is doing more than just trying to rebuild; it is aiming to become the world’s first climate resilient country.
Barbadian economist Professor Avinash Persaud, who is also currently advising the Barbados government on economic matters, was last year named Special Advisor to Dominica’s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, as he leads the island in that effort.
