The Barbadian economy will be under the spotlight when the Central Bank of Barbados hosts a discussion forum that will be broadcast live on CBC TV 8 and VOB 92.9 on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

One of the key topics of discussion during the forum will be the latest Central Bank review of the economy, which was released on January 24. That review revealed growth of approximately 1.6% during 2016, but also a significant decline in foreign reserves.

Panelists for the forum are Central Bank Governor, Dr. DeLisle Worrell; Professor Winston Moore, Head of the Department of Economics at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill; Donna Wellington, President of The Barbados Bankers’ Association; Reginald Farley, Executive Director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB); and local journalist, Jewel Brathwaite. Dean St. Hill and Patrick “Salt” Bellamy will moderate the discussion.

Viewers will also be able to watch the discussion via livestream on the Central Bank’s website, www.centralbank.org.bb, and on Facebook. The Facebook livestream will be moderated by Dr. Ankie Scott-Joseph, a lecturer in Economics at UWI, Cave Hill.
