This paper describes the extent of the financial structure in the region drawing on data from five major Caricom countries - Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. It examines the expansion of the financial sector during the period 1975 to 1986. Finally, it highlights a number of factors which limit the ability of the financial system to facilitate economic growth. (Previous title: Collection of unpublished research papers.
