Over the past twenty years, a great deal of research time and effort has gone into the development of macro-econometric models for industrialised economies. The reasons behind building such models have centred traditionally on the notion that they can provide a better understanding of the mechanisms through which individual theoretical relations interact within the overall structure of the economy.
