The late Dr. Kurleigh King assumed the duties of Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados on September 15, 1987.
A former Barbados Scholar and Economist by training, Dr. King served with distinction as the General Manager of the Industrial Development Corporation, Director of the Industry Division of the Caribbean Development Bank and as Secretary General of CARICOM. He was also one of the original members of the Board of the Central Bank of Barbados and served in that capacity until 1974.
Dr. King’s tenure with the Bank ended on September 14, 1992.
