Central Bank of Barbados Gives Update on Outstanding Pension Payments

The Central Bank of Barbados advises the public that, as at 5:00 p.m. today, Monday, June 29, 2026, 91 public sector pensions due on June 26, 2026, and 66 National Insurance pensions due today, June 29, 2026, remain outstanding.

The Central Bank is working urgently with the National Insurance and Social Security Service, relevant Government agencies, and financial institutions to complete the remaining payments as quickly as possible.

The outstanding payments relate to account validation and processing matters that must be corrected before payment instructions can be completed. This work is continuing as a priority.

The Central Bank recognises the concern and inconvenience caused to affected pensioners and their families. These payments are being treated as urgent, and all parties are working to ensure that the remaining pensioners receive their funds as soon as possible.

Pensioners who have not received their payment should contact the National Insurance and Social Security Service at 467-4647. Persons making enquiries should have their National Registration Number and relevant pension information available.

Affected pensioners are also advised that they should not pay any person or institution to correct account information or to have a pension payment released.

The Central Bank apologises for the distress caused and will provide further updates as additional payments are completed.
