Central Bank of Barbados Governor Dr. Kevin Greenidge and Deputy Governor Michelle Doyle join representatives from the World Bank and The Barbados Bankers Association to officially launch Barbados’ national instant payment system, which will go live on March 31, 2026.
They discuss the rationale for the system, how it will work, and the benefits it will offer to individuals, businesses, and the broader economy. Governor Greenidge and Deputy Governor Doyle also outline how the Central Bank will prepare Barbadians for the introduction of the system.
