The Central Bank of Barbados is seeking to fill the post of Deputy Director, Facilities Management Department.
Job Summary
To provide leadership and managerial support to ensure the delivery of consistently excellent services and facilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the development and implementation of facilities management systems for the upkeep of the Bank’s properties
- Overseeing the administrative operations related to the Bank’s preventative maintenance programmes
- Monitoring, reviewing, and assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures, and making recommendations for improvements, where required
- Overseeing the processes for the preparation, review, and analysis of bid documents and the award of maintenance/construction contracts to ensure effective project implementation
- Assisting in the design and management of departmental budgets
- Assisting in the management and monitoring of the department’s performance, strengthening operational efficiency, and nurturing and motivating staff in alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
- Contributing to the executive management team’s effort by completing any other related duties as assigned
Relationships
Establish and maintain good working relationships with all members of staff, local and overseas senior partners of professional service companies, e.g. engineers, architects, and contractors, and counterparts in other central banks, tenants, Government, statutory bodies, and the general public
Education/Experience
The successful candidate must have:
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent in Facilities Management, Project Management, Engineering or related discipline and at least five years’ experience in a senior Facilities Management supervisory position
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Facilities Management, Project Management, Engineering or related discipline and seven years’ experience in a senior Facilities Management supervisory position
- Knowledge of the methods and techniques of preventative maintenance
- Knowledge of the maintenance practices related to buildings including HVAC, electrical, electronic, and mechanical
- Proficiency in related Information Technology facilities management systems
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of contract administration
