CENTRAL BANK OF BARBADOS GOVERNOR, DR. DELISLE WORRELL
HOLDS TALKS WITH HIS SURINAMESE COUNTERPART
Central Bank of Barbados Governor, Dr. DeLisle Worrell recently held talks with his counterpart at the Central Bank of Suriname, Gillmore Hoefdraad. During the talks at Dr. Worrell’s official residence, “Newlands”, the two governors discussed matters of regional interest and explored ways in which the Central Bank of Barbados can assist the Bank of Suriname.
The two governors described the talks as very productive.
Before taking up the position of Governor, Hoefdraad was employed as a senior economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 1999-2010. Prior to joining the IMF, he was the coordinator of the Caribbean Programme at the Centre of Monetary Studies of Latin America and the Caribbean (CEMLA) in Mexico.
At the IMF, he worked in the areas of Balance of Payments, international reserves and external debt statistics, as well as with the IMF's data dissemination of standards, providing technical assistance and training to a number of South American, European, Central Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
