Central Bank of Barbados Governor Dr. Kevin Greenidge has been awarded the Order of Freedom of Barbados. He received the honour, Barbados’ highest, during the official ceremony celebrating Barbados’ 59th anniversary of Independence and its fourth as a parliamentary republic.
Governor Greenidge was recognised for his "exceptional people-centred leadership in economic policy and central banking, and his outstanding transformative achievements in guiding reforms under the Barbados Economic Recovery and Transformation (BERT) programmes."
In a statement, the Bank said, “This prestigious award acknowledges Governor Greenidge’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to steering our nation through critical economic reforms that have strengthened our financial stability and improved the lives of all Barbadians. His dedication to people-centred policies and transformative economic strategies has made an indelible mark on our country's development.”
