Not If, But When: Managing Cyber Risk in Barbados' Financial Sector

Cyber-attacks are now so prevalent that the consensus among cybersecurity experts is that it is not a matter of if, but rather when organisations will be targeted.

The question then becomes how they will prepare for and respond to an attack.

Watch representatives from Barbados’ two financial regulators, the Central Bank of Barbados and the Financial Services Commission; cybersecurity professionals, and an expert in crisis and risk communications discuss how to manage cyber risk in Barbados. Among the topics covered:

  • The prevalence and nature of cyber-attacks regionally and internally
  • Financial regulators’ cyber risk management guidelines
  • A case study of COB Credit Union’s cyber breach
  • Communications best practice for cybersecurity incidents

Panellists

  • Tamara Hurley, Deputy Director, Bank Supervision, Central Bank of Barbados
  • Shonté Chandler, Analyst, Credit Unions, Financial Services Commission
  • Anthony Harris, President, Information Systems Security Association Barbados Chapter
  • Ryan Greaves, Chief Technology Officer, COB Credit Union
  • Greg Vanier, Senior Vice President, Crisis and Risk, Edelman Canada

Moderated by Curtis Lowe, Manager, Credit Unions, Financial Services Commission.
