The Central Bank of Barbados (“the Bank”) advises the public that it has suspended the licence of Zeemoney (Barbados) Limited (“Zeemoney”) pursuant to Section 50 (1)(c) of the Financial Institutions Act, Cap. 324A (the Act), effective May 5, 2026, to June 4, 2026.
The Bank advises the public that during this period, Zeemoney is prohibited from conducting any money or value transmission service provider business.
Customers with queries regarding existing transactions or access to funds should contact Zeemoney directly, using its established customer service channels.
This action follows a supervisory review and subsequent developments that have materially deepened the Bank’s concerns regarding the institution’s financial condition, governance, operational continuity and regulatory compliance.
Zeemoney has been directed to remediate all identified deficiencies within a specified timeline in accordance with Section 50 (1)(a) of the Act. Failure to do so may result in further supervisory action.
The Bank will continue to monitor the institution closely during the suspension period and remains committed to maintaining a safe and sound financial system.
