The Central Bank of Barbados is seeking to fill a post of Human Resources Officer, Human Resources Department.

Job Summary

To assist with recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, employee relations and training and development of personnel at the Bank

To continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Human Resources

Department and the organisation as a whole and to enhance the employee experience

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the review, development and implementation of human resource policies, procedures and programmes
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the Human Resources Information System and databases, developing HR Analytics and providing reports and other information for decision making and overall systems support
  • Contributing to talent acquisition and recruitment by coordinating the recruitment and selection process and assisting with on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Assisting with the administration of compensation and benefit plans and the performance management process
  • Assisting with the administration of employee awards and recognition schemes
  • Assisting in planning and coordinating training and development initiatives and interventions
  • Ensuring compliance with all employment laws, policies and regulations and ensuring HR best practices by keeping abreast of developments in new and existing legislation, and recommending required actions
  • Ensuring effective communication is maintained by providing information, advice, feedback, updates and/or modifications related to Bank policies, procedures and/or practices
  • Promoting the importance of a healthy work life balance through the management and administration of the Bank’s Wellness Programme
  • Facilitating staff welfare, recreational, social and cultural activities through collaborations with the Sports and Cultural Club, Staff Representatives and other recognised staff groups or programmes and assisting with cultural change programmes
  • Promoting HR programmes and recommending employee relations practices necessary to maintain a positive employer/employee relationship
  • Contributing to Departmental team efforts by accomplishing Human Resources Management related results as required

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or a related discipline AND
  • Knowledge of the labour laws and Human Resources management practices in Barbados
  • Must be competent in the use of word-processing, spreadsheet and database management applications
