This note consolidates and interprets the evidence on the growth of the international business services sector in Barbados. This sector is involved in a wide range of activities including those related to offshore banking, captive insurance and informatics. In addition, the sector contains international business companies and foreign sales corporations which engage in activities outside of Barbados. The note highlights the contribution of the sector to the economy and examines the prospects for some areas of activity.
