The Central Bank of Barbados is seeking to a fill a post of Assistant Advisor to the Deputy Governor.

Job Summary

To provide executive support on matters pertaining to the Governor ‘s Office

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities will be to:

  • Maintain responsibility as the Deputy Governor’s contact between Governmental, local, regional and international stakeholders on business, banking, financial, economic, legislative, risk management, strategic, and other issues
  • Keep abreast of issues taking place in the business, banking, financial, economic, risk management, strategic, and legislative landscape and apprise the Deputy Governor, as required
  • Research and prepare reports and briefs on business, banking, financial, economic, legislative, and other issues and provide guidance and advice on resolution, where required
  • Facilitate critical aspects of the Deputy Governor’s deliverables by prioritising and proactively managing special projects and work assigned, some of which may have organisational impact, and seeing them through to successful completion
  • Maintain technical and professional competence by participating and making presentations in domestic, regional and international economic and business conferences and fora with the Deputy Governor or on the Deputy Governor’s behalf
  • Provide leadership to build relationships both internally and externally that are crucial to the success of the work of the Bank and follow up with contacts to maintain on-going business relationships
  • Assist in coordinating the Deputy Governor’s outreach programmes and responding to queries and requests on the Deputy Governor’s behalf 
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing any related tasks assigned

Relationships

Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with all members of staff, representatives of national, regional and international agencies, and the general public.

Education/Experience

  • A Master’s Degree in Economics, Banking, Finance, Law, Project Management, Risk Management, or in a related discipline with at least three (3) years’ practical experience in the aforementioned disciplines   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), database, spreadsheet and word processing applications and social media web platforms would be an asset
