The Central Bank of Barbados wishes to advise the public that an upgraded $20 note is in circulation.

The new and readily visible feature of the upgraded $20 note is on the front of the note:

The security thread has been upgraded from an embedded security thread to a windowed thread.
The thread is incorporated into the note and is partially visible when the note is lying flat, giving the effect of a broken line. The text clearly reads “CBB $20" when the note is held up to the light.

All other features of the $20 note remain the same.
The upgraded notes will circulate simultaneously with the previous issues of notes, which remain legal tender.
