The Central Bank of Barbados emerged as the overall champion of the 2025 Harbour Games, securing first place with 175 points following a dominant performance across multiple sporting disciplines.
The Bank outperformed its nearest rival, the Barbados Port Authority, by 55 points, and joint third-place competitors Oran and Goddards Catering Group by 120 points.
“We are delighted to lift the Harbour Games Trophy, thanks to our hard-working competitors and dedicated supporters. They really put their all into these games, and the results reflect that,” said Shaquille Phillips, one of the Central Bank’s coordinators, at the recent awards ceremony.
The Central Bank delivered outstanding performances throughout the competition, particularly in table tennis, where the Bank swept all three medals in the female division and claimed two of the three medals in the male division.
The Bank also secured gold medals in basketball and chess, and recorded strong podium finishes in netball, cricket, partners dominoes, and road tennis.
Governor Dr. The Most Honourable Kevin Greenidge captured gold in the chess tournament for the second consecutive year, underscoring consistency and excellence at the highest level of competition.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, lead organiser Joezane Joseph reflected on the wider impact of the games:
“Tonight we celebrate more than just wins and trophies. We celebrate commitment, teamwork, and the true spirit of sportsmanship. Over the course of the year, we witnessed determination, friendly rivalry, respect both on and off the field, and friendship.”
Competitions were held across eleven disciplines, including chess, draughts, dominoes, pool, netball, table tennis, basketball, futsal, cricket, and road tennis. The 2025 Games also marked an expansion of netball participation, with men taking part as members of netball teams fielded by several organisations.
Now in its third year, the Harbour Games continue to promote teamwork, wellness, and camaraderie among public and private sector institutions.
In addition to the top three teams, the Barbados Water Authority, Scotiabank, Barbados Trust Fund, Export Barbados, Platinum Systems Inc., KM2 Solutions, the Barbados Fisheries Division, and TMR Sales and Services competed in what organisers have described as the largest turnout to date.
Organisers have confirmed strong early interest in the 2026 Harbour Games, with plans already underway to further expand the event and introduce new disciplines.
