In a press release issued on June 5, 2018, the Barbados Government Information Service confirmed the arrival of a team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), saying that during its three-day visit, “the team will hold discussions with the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mia Amor Mottley, Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Cleviston Haynes, other senior government officials, and representatives from the private sector and the labour movement.”
The press release also announced that the Government has appointed White Oak Advisory Ltd. to act as its financial advisor on the debt restructuring process and said that all queries related to the debt restructuring should be directed to barbados@whiteoakadvisory.com.
The decision to restructure Barbados’ debt was first announced on June 1.
