In its continued effort to protect Barbadians against the threat posed by counterfeiters, the Central Bank of Barbados will host its annual seminar aimed at educating moneyhandlers and the public at large on how to verify the authenticity of banknotes, thereby enabling them to more easily distinguish between genuine notes and counterfeits.
This year’s seminar will be held in the Frank Collymore Hall on Tuesday, June 1, with a session reserved for commercial banks and credit unions, followed by a public session on Wednesday, June 2, beginning at 9:30 a.m. when the chief facilitator will be Mr. Tim Jones of De la Rue Currency, the company entrusted with the printing of Barbadian banknotes. Mr. Jones, the Regional Manager of De la Rue, will make a presentation on many of the features to be found in local banknotes and will then participate in a question and answer session during which he will address any concerns the audience may have.
The Central Bank of Barbados invites all interested persons to join us on Wednesday, June 2 for this useful? and informative seminar.
