The Central Bank of Barbados and the Philatelic Bureau of the Barbados Postal Service have teamed up to produce a limited-edition set of stamps in celebration of the Bank’s 50th anniversary.
“We are pleased to mark the end of our yearlong celebration of our golden jubilee with the release of this commemorative issue,” said Novaline Brewster, the Bank’s Chief of Corporate Communications.
The set of four stamps features the Bank’s different facilities: the main building of the Tom Adams Financial Centre, the Frank Collymore Hall, the Exchange Interactive Centre, which is the Bank’s museum, and Church Village Green, its public recreation area.
“The Bank is a multifaceted organisation. Maintaining the value of our currency and promoting financial stability are our main objectives, but we are also supporters of the arts and culture, and members of the community that we serve. Through this collection, we are highlighting the many hats the Bank has worn over the past five decades and continues to wear.”
The stamps will be on sale at the general post office and district offices for three months and at the Philatelic Bureau for one year. The full four-stamp collection cost $4.35, and first-day covers are available at $5.10.
