POLICY ON LOGO USE The correct application of the Central Bank of Barbados’ logo is critical to maintaining the integrity of the Bank’s corporate identity. These guidelines should therefore be adhered to at all times, and should be utilized by the organization, graphic designers, advertising agencies, printers and anyone who is charged with designing, creating, and producing an item that is associated with the Central Bank of Barbados. If any further information with respect to the use of the logo is needed, please contact the Public Affairs section. LOGO FORMAT The Bank’s logo is graphics based, in that it includes a graphic, or an abstraction of what the entity does. The heraldic dolphin is enclosed in two circles. The inner circle features a graduated blue to dark blue colour effect. Similarly in the outer circle, a graduated yellow is used. The body of the heraldic dolphin is aquamarine and green and the tail and mouth are both red. The words Central Bank of Barbados are inscribed in the space between the inner and outer circles with the broken trident located at the base. FULL-COLOUR LOGO The logo is a full colour image and should always is reproduced in full colour whether printed or electronically presented. In cases where the full colour process cannot be utilized, but a full colour effect is required (as for example in embroidery applications on garments or in certain restricted spot printing situations) then a simplified logo version with uniform spot colours (replacing the graduated tones) should be used. SINGLE COLOUR LOGO The preferred single colour logo is black. Its graphic elements: the dolphin, the Bank’s name, and the concentric rings are all black on a mandatory white “block-out” background. This means that if the single colour logo is placed on any colour background then all the elements within its bounding circle would appear on white. The single colour logo should be used when printing costs or reproduction constraints prohibit the use of the full colour logo. MINIMUM SIZE The logo should never be smaller than one inch in diameter. (LOGO EXCLUSION ZONE) When using the logo in print applications or in electronic media, leaving appropriate space around the symbol will ensure its integrity, and avoid a cluttered look. It is important to be cognizant of the amount of space and keep it clear of all imagery and type. When using the logo, make sure that there is an exclusion zone of free space of at least 25% of the diameter of the logo if the logo is two (2) inches or bigger, or 50% of diameter if the logo is smaller than two (2) inches. Positioning the Central Bank of Barbados’ logo in proximity to other identities occurs periodically. When this co-branding arises, it is important that the rules stipulated above are carefully applied. The Bank’s identity must remain distinct and should always be given the appropriate priority in relation to other identities.
