Introductory Remarks To the Annual Health Fair 2010 by Pamela Arthur, Assistant Director, Human Resources.

Deputy Governor, Dr. Daniel Boamah, Senior Management, the Very Reverend the Dean Frank Marshall, Members of the Organisations participating in this the Central Bank of Barbados’ Annual Health Fair 2010, Staff Members, Ladies and Gentlemen, Good Morning.

It is truly a pleasure to see you all and to welcome you here!

The Theme for this year’s Annual Health Fair is “Our Health, Our Wealth”.

Bearing in mind the words of Mr. Elbert Hubbard:

If you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you will have all the wealth you need….

It is, therefore, important that we engage in preventive health care, follow good diets and exercise regularly since, by so doing, the threats and expenses associated with illnesses could and would be significantly reduced and would assist us in accumulating some wealth.

Hence, our Theme today – “Our Health, Our Wealth”.

The Central Bank of Barbados is, therefore, aware that it has a public duty and it is by way of this Health Fair that we seek to raise the level of consciousness regarding matters of health not only for the members of our staff but also you – the public.

But, we need also to be aware of not only our physical health but our spiritual health.  With these thoughts in mind, we will now call to the Podium the Very Reverend the Dean Frank Marshall to bless this event by invoking the presence of our Creator, in prayer.

Dean Marshall ….

Thank you Dean Marshall.

We now invite Dr. Daniel Boamah, Deputy Governor, to give the official remarks and to declare the Health Fair – open.

Thank you Dr. Boamah.

I now invite you all to visit the booths and I wish you all a great day at The Central Bank of Barbados’ Annual Health Fair 2010!!!
