The component Travel (according to the fifth edition of the IMF’s Balance of Payments Manual (1993)) refers to the value of an assortment of services consumed by travellers1. For the Balance of Payments, travel is broken down into travel credits and travel debits. Travel credits are the cost of goods and services purchased by travellers who come to Barbados, while travel debits refer to the total value of goods and services purchased by Barbadian residents2 while overseas.
