This study explores the formal as opposed to the pragmatic framework as a framework for analysing the demand for imports in the Barbadian economy over the period 1957 to 1978. It draws on previous work done in this field by Wallace Joefield-Napier (1982). This explanation is performed with a transcendental logarithmic utility function.
