The objective of the paper is to review the existing literature of technology transfer and its link with FDI under the above scenarios. Based on this foundation the aim is to portray the historical behaviour of technology adopted in the Caribbean firms with high export contents. Two firms that are efficiency-seeking type of foreign direct investment in a specific human labour development condition are considered. In this setting, the nature, direction and determinants of technological learning of the Caribbean firms are examined. The purpose is to locate case material with historical evidence and generate further questions for analysis.
