Central Bank of Barbados Welcomes 2026 Summer Interns

The Central Bank of Barbados’ 2026 summer internship programme has officially commenced, welcoming 28 students of varying educational backgrounds from institutions including the Barbados Community College (BCC), Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI), and the University of the West Indies (UWI). Over the three-month period, the programme will reward the students with a chance to acquire invaluable, practical experience in departments relevant to their field of study, while learning from skilled professionals and engaging in meaningful networking opportunities.

“It is always a pleasure to welcome these talented individuals into our internship programme,” said Novaline Brewster, Director of Communications, Information and Outreach at the Bank. “This initiative offers a valuable opportunity for these aspiring professionals to develop not only their careers, but also a deeper understanding of themselves.”

“It feels exciting knowing that I will be able to gain hands-on experience and personal growth in the workplace”, said Krystiana Depeiza, a second-year Electrical Engineering student from the Barbados Community College. She will be working in the Facilities Management Department at the Bank.

During the internship, interns will participate in training sessions, seminars, and team-building activities that will help them enhance their technical skills and work on real-world projects.
