Four officers from the Central Bank of Barbados were among the honourees during the 2025 Independence and Republic Day Ceremonial Parade and National Awards Ceremony held at Kensington Oval on Sunday, November 30.
Governor Dr. Kevin Greenidge was awarded the nation’s highest honour, the Order of Freedom of Barbados for "exceptional people-centred leadership in economic policy and central banking,” which bestows upon him the title “The Most Honourable.”
The other honourees were Cheryl Greenidge, Senior Director, Bank Supervision; Jennifer Clarke-Murrell, Deputy Director, Bank Supervision, and Estherline O’Neal, Senior Examiner, Bank Supervision, who were each received the Gold Award of Achievement. They were among 33 members of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Core Implementation Team and the International Business Unit Economic Substance Team recognised for their pivotal role in guiding Barbados off the FATF Grey List and EU Blacklist and ensuring compliance with international financial regulations.
“We are proud to celebrate with Governor Greenidge and our team from Bank Supervision as they are recognised for their outstanding achievements,” the Bank stated.
