The paper provides a framework for measuring human capital (mainly educational capital in Barbados, a country which has a tradition of a high literacy rates as a result of significant investment in education, and ascertains the contribution to economic growth of human capital, along with physical capital and labour inputs. A later version of this paper is dated October, 1997.
