This paper reviews the methods which have been used for economic forecasting in the Caribbean, both those which are based on econometric models and those which are not. It discusses what has been learnt from these efforts, and the limitations of current forecasting procedures. It gives the author's views on how some of the remaining deficiencies might be tackled.
