The paper measures the impact of the turbulent economic condition on the growth in debt as well as explores the relationship between debt and economic growth. It examines the debt profile, taking into consideration the inherent problems associated with the changing maturity structure. It identifies the various shocks and measures their impact on the economy of Barbados and analyzes the relationship between debt and growth with the help of a neoclassical production function.
