In 1985, Downes outlined factors which affect the rate of inflation in the Barbadian economy. This paper extends the previous analysis by augmenting the set of explanatory variables considered, and employing recent techniques relating to the modelling of cointegrated variables. The adequacy of the modelling design is also examined through the use of extensive diagnostic testing. The results indicate that wages, productivity, unemployment and the price of tradeables are significant explanatory variables. (Previous title: Collection of unpublished research papers)
