Opportunity for Managers and Leaders to Hear In Barbados An International Emotional Intelligence Guru
The Central Bank of Barbados is inviting human resource practitioners,. business leaders and managers to participate in “Emotional Talent: The Final Leadership Frontier”, an Emotional Intelligence Conference scheduled for the Frank Collymore Hall on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. The facilitator is International 'Public Consultant' Mr. Tim Sanders, former Chief Solutions Officer at Yahoo, and international expert in Emotional Intelligence research.

Additionally, Sanders has authored several books, including “Love, the Killer App: How to Win Business and Influence Friends" and "The Likeability Factor". What is most noteworthy about him is that he has successfully applied the concept of Emotional Intelligence in businesses with resounding results and will provide important insights to help attendees transform their organizations. There is substantial research evidence that the most successful organizations have leaders who are well positioned now and for the future to lead with robust emotional intelligence. Additionally, the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) found that, "...for the HR professionals, the ability to motivate (36%), emotional intelligence (34%) and being a natural leader (24%) were the most important characteristics when recruiting senior leaders."

The Bank adopted emotional intelligence in 2010 and already has seen the transformational effects of the EI principles on our organization’s culture and behaviour. Your organization can benefit similarly from Tim Sander’s experience and expertise.
Key takeaways will include:

  • Why the 'mood state' can have a 1000% impact on a company’s innovation effectiveness. Based on case studies inside companies like Motorola & Google, Sanders explains why most business is really ‘chemical warfare.’
  • Why your company’s emotional value proposition is important to attracting and retaining top talent. How to integrate employee experience design into leadership.
Surprising research, revealing authenticity as a key emotional-talent attribute. How to “Keep It Real” in a world of false promises, distracted bosses and truth-stretchers.
  • How to repair a damaged relationship or a mismanaged expectation.
  • How to decode people’s emotions with 90% accuracy. Reading people is a technique that IBM Data sales execs, CIA agents and champion poker players learn and hone. Sanders will reveal the seven (7) Faces of Emotion, which can make you the smartest leader in the room.
  • How to master the “Art of Deep Listening” with your talent and your customers. How to borrow from the best interviewers in the world to uncover strategic insights in the field or around the office. How to develop a more empathetic culture, leading to a customer-centric approach to selling and delivering.

Again, we invite all, managers, leaders, and human resources practitioners to participate in what promises to be a life-changing event. For further details please contact Miss Samantha Holder at Tel. 436-6870 Ext. 6785 or by email: samantha.holder@centralbank.org.bb.
